Atatürk’s Silhouette Rises Proudly in Northern Cyprus

A giant steel portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has been installed on the roundabout on the Kyrenia–Alsancak road. The 7-tonne work, about 8 metres in diameter, rotates 120 degrees every two hours. The project involves the sister municipality Büyükçekmece Municipality in Istanbul, led by Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün.
